No. Davis Marine have partnered with Stratton Finance, who are the finance broker. A dedicated Stratton broker explores options across their panel of 40+ lenders and handles the application. We handle the vessel — survey, valuation, title, registration and settlement.
Will getting a quote affect my credit score?
Stratton’s quote tool is offered as a quote with no impact to your credit score. All applications for credit are subject to lender credit assessment and eligibility criteria.
Can I get finance on a private sale, not just a dealer boat?
Talk to a Stratton broker about your particular purchase. From our side, a private sale usually needs a survey, proof of clear title and an encumbrance check — all of which we organise as part of a brokered transaction anyway.
What will I need to provide?
Your Stratton broker will tell you exactly what their lender panel requires and complete the application based on your financial details. On the boat, it helps to have the make, model, year, HIN, the contract of sale or written quote, and a marine survey on an older vessel.
Can you finance a new boat that is still being built?
Factory orders for Duchy, Hardy and Cockwells involve build slots and staged progress payments. We coordinate the build and payment schedule from the boat side so it lines up with the funding.
Do I need insurance in place?
A lender will generally require cover at settlement. We are a Club Marine agent, so boat insurance is arranged alongside the sale rather than chased afterwards.
Can I finance a boat I found somewhere else?
Yes. You do not need to be buying through us to speak to a Stratton broker — the quote link on this page is open to anyone.
