Cockwells Delivers Tenders for New Lürssen Megayacht

“Cockwells’ Two Fastest Tenders”

Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding has successfully delivered two high-speed tenders, the 12.3m Limousine Catamaran Tender and the 11.7m Open Sport Catamaran Tender, to Lürssen Shipyard in Germany. These remarkable vessels, which were custom-designed and expertly constructed by Cockwells, are intended for use on the impressive 160m mega yacht known as BLUE, a true titan among superyachts worldwide

These two remarkable tenders, designed by Cockwells with a unique and asymmetric high-speed hull, have been crafted to perfection for Lürssen Shipyard. Powered by twin diesel engines and waterjet propulsion, these vessels can reach an impressive speed of up to 52 knots, promising an exhilarating ride while ensuring stability and comfort throughout the journey.

The 12.3m Limousine Catamaran Tender offers a lavish on-water transfer experience for up to 15 guests. With touchscreen controls, joystick manoeuvring, and precision docking, the tender boasts a height-adjustable deck saloon accessible through sliding glass doors from the forward and aft cockpits. The deck saloon can be effortlessly raised or lowered from the helm console, and when in the lower position, it neatly fits into the mothership’s garage. Equipped with an automated water ballast system, the tender maintains stability at sea or while docked, ensuring a comfortable experience for all on board.

The 11.7m Open Sport Catamaran Tender features a permanent Bimini that spans the entire width of the cockpit. The Bimini structure, made of a moulded painted carbon composite frame with carbon sockets, can be electronically raised or lowered to fit seamlessly within the tender bay.

Dave Cockwell, Founder & Managing Director, expresses pride in creating these exceptional tenders for Lürssen, highlighting the collaboration with Terence Disdale Design, who masterminded the mothership’s luxurious details. With decades of experience in building exquisite superyacht tenders, Cockwells has elevated its engineering prowess with these catamaran tenders. The company believes these are the fastest and most reliable catamaran tenders in the industry, showcasing their commitment to delivering innovative engineering, creative design, luxury, and outstanding performance.

Cockwells’ outstanding reputation has led to the sale of another high-speed luxury catamaran, the delivery of four tenders for Spain’s largest megayacht, and the delivery of their inaugural all-new Hardy 50DS. A few of the more impressive accomplishments they have had was the starring of Grace, a 9.5m Owner’s Tender for the Perini Navi 73m Vitruvius superyacht GRACE E, alongside Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx in a new Netflix Original. Here’s an article to find out more about their record sales.
